Antique 9ct gold fancy link guard chain C1890's - 63cm

Popular in Victorian times, guard or muff chains were used to hold a ladies fob watch securely or to attach to a woollen muff or hand warmer. Now they have been repurposed and are substantial enough to be worn as a necklace wrapped a number of times around the neck.
