A memento of times past.
This intriguing bangle is made in Antique sterling silver and set with small cabochon turquoise pieces. This lovely bangle features a firm open hinge with a tongue press clasp. It is patterned with an oxidised texture and is carved with Old Russian dialect on the underside of the bangle.
It reads 'Kavkaz' which translates to 'Caucasus', like the mountainous region bordering Georgia and Russia - this bangle most likely was a souvenir piece that was brought back as a token of one's travels (much similar to that of The Grand Tours of Europe during the 17th and 18th century).
The age of this piece is estimated to be from the early 1900s.
